Doesn’t it feel good when you go away and only have the few items you packed…you don’t have all of your stuff so getting ready or putting things away only takes moments?
I recently went away and when I returned I missed how easy it was to focus and do things when I didn’t have all of my “stuff” around me. That inspired me to do a major declutter of clothes.
I had clothes going back more for more than 10 years that I kept because they were too nice to get rid of or I thought I would wear again when I lost weight.
I lost recently weight and though there were some items I was happy to get back into, I wasn’t interested in most of it anymore. For example, I had a dozen skirts and I couldn’t tell you the last time I wore one of them. I also had tons of dresses.
So I decided to get rid of anything I couldn’t just put on and be happy in immediately with a few exceptions. I did keep a few casual dresses and probably too many fancier dresses. They might get cut in the next round of decluttering. But I ended up getting rid of 2/3 of my clothes!
This resulted in eliminating five Walmart sized shopping bags of clothes. After doing this I watched a Minimal Mom video – This is Brand New Information – and was inspired to do the Mins Game this month which led the next step which I talk about in the video below.
If you are interested in doing the Mins game too too feel free to comment below and maybe we can motivate each other.
